Product Description
The Platypus Ortho Flosser comes in a bag of 25 flossers, and is changing the way the world flosses with braces. Gone are the days of threading endlessly for hours - now you can floss and go OR simply floss on the go! The floss end of The Platypus has a unique spatula-like end that slides between your wire and your teeth. By gently pressing against your teeth the floss is tightened and you are flossing! On the opposite end of the Platypus, you have a brush for cleaning those hard to reach areas around your brackets.

1 out of 5 stars POOR PRODUCT!   June 3, 2010
W. Clements (Monroe, WA)
Anyone going through orthodontic treatment understands the pain of flossing around your braces. I personally had used superfloss from the beginning, and could floss withoput standing in front of a mirror after a little practice. My hygentist told me about this product so I took her advice and found it online. I wasn't too happy about the price, but went ahead and purchased 3 packs. Unlike the girl in the video I didnt have instant success. The first one I tried to use, the floss broke. The second one I used, the floss broke. Getting a little frustrated, I decided to move where my teeth weren't tight...success. Say what you want, but when you market a product to a group of consumers whose teeth are in a constant state of movement, you'd better do proper testing on the strength of your product. I was angry after I went through 8 of these things in one session, so I sent an email to the manufacturer expressing my concerns about the quality of their product. I figured that, at the very least, they'd offer me a complimentary package. Their lengthy response basically said that although the product was still in its testing phase, that they were proud to say it was made in the USA and that basically I am not a patriot if I don't buy it. I couldnt believe it, I was furious. I'm proud to be an American, and utterly embarrassed to see such crap being made here and touting a hefty pricetag to boot. So I am back to using my wonderful Oral B Superfloss. I may not be as fast at flossing but Im not throwing away more plastic than those who do use them. BTW---got a couple of unopened packs of these pieces of garbage....anyone interested? I'll sell cheap. =)

4 out of 5 stars Braces made easier   May 17, 2010
K. Prang (Denver, CO)
This product definitely makes flossing quicker and easier for braces. I still think the standard string floss does a better job, but this product cut my flossing time down by like 10 minutes.

2 out of 5 stars Floss thread not that strong   May 13, 2010
Priya Murugesan
The floss thread is not that strong compared to the platypus shaped floss holder.
Expected more, but was disappointed when the floss thread breaks easily between my teeth...
But the design is great as it gives an easy pathway to reach inbetween braced teeth..

4 out of 5 stars allows my daughter to actually floss   May 6, 2010
Laura de Leon (Silicon Valley, CA)
My daughter has braces, and this product allows her to actually floss her own teeth. Without them, the only time her teeth would be flossed would be when I did it. I find it much faster to floss her teeth with these than with superfloss or a threader. The waterpik was too messy and didn't get everything when she did it herself.

The downside is the price/quality ratio. They are way too expensive, given the quality-- they break very easily.

However, they make such a difference to the process, we'll keep buying them.

1 out of 5 stars Waste of money. Just use threaders for braces.   April 19, 2010
K. Marchman
Didn't work well for my purpose. It doesn't fit between braces and teeth. The floss broke on the few teeth it could fit.
