Product Description
This economical dimmable 23 watt CFL from U Lighting America (ULA) is offered as a value-priced 2-pack. Each 23 watt lamp will provide about the same amount of light as a 90-100 watt incandescent light bulb, and is compatible with most standard incandescent dimming controls (though in conjunction with some inexpensive controls this CFL may flicker and hum at the lowest light levels).

1 out of 5 stars "Lasts up to 7 YEARS!" the box claims, how about less than 7 HOURS?   July 25, 2010

I have had a really hard time finding dimmable 15 watt lights for a kitchen ceiling fan. Alas, I find them and go home and replace the bulbs since I use this light everyday, several hours a day. I thought I was going green - instead I went red, with anger! First off, 'dimmable' is a joke, they are so BRIGHT WHITE you HAVE to dim them for fear of burning your corneas out. They do not dim to a low light level; they just dim somewhat. Of the three bulbs I installed, one didn't even last more than 4 hours. My ceiling fan is solid - it does not shake. I've never had a problem with regular bulbs in the ceiling fan. These new compact fluorescent light bulbs are a waste of money. I now don't really mind paying my electric bill, because at least with a good old fashioned bulb, I know it's going to work, the way I want it to, every time and it will last me for quite a long time. I guess I'll keep on conserving energy the old fashioned way - "outten the lights!" as they say in PA Dutch!

After reading the reviews of these bulbs, I decided to lean toward purchasing the PURESPECTRUM dimmable CFL's Amazon sells. Not only are the bulbs much cheaper, they are touted as being the best dimmable CFL on the market! They are 2700K (that is very close in warmth (color) to an incadesent bulb, not the stark white of most CFL's).

In all fairness, I did not purchase the bulbs 4 pack of the more expensive bulbs, only the PureSpectrum bulbs. My opinion of these bulbs comes only from the reviews of those that did purchase them.

Also, I had a little trouble locating the PureSpectrum bulbs on Amazon. They are easy to find by searching under 'dimmable CFL' and NOT 'dimmable compact florescent'. Go figure.

The bulbs were shipped promptly. They did not work for my dining room light fixture application, as they are bright white, not cool white. I contacted the distributor to return them and they cheerfully refunded my purchase price.

1 out of 5 stars won't last... poor CS   November 24, 2009

Died after a few months. I called the warranty/returns line - 1-877-854-4489 - and the guy said to return it to the store. These were bought 4 months ago and the store won't take them back. So now I have to dispose of it at the electronics recycling center for a fee. Fluorescent bulb manufacturers should be required by law to take them back for recycling... otherwise there's no incentive to produce a long lasting bulb/ballast.

They're nice until they stop working. And they stop working (on average) within 3-7 months. Sometimes, they're bad right out of the box. The only dimmable CFL manufacturer comparable/worse than ULA is Feit.
